WOW, it has been a long time since I have written anything.  Things have been busy at IDC.  Lots of repairs coming in, builds to be done, and businesses needing attention.  The Catlett household has been busy too.  Daughter off to nursing school, son starting middle school, husband in the field, new horse to be ridden (well, new this past March), and so on.  I’m looking forward to Boo-tiful Saturday; I know its still a month and a half away but the way time has been flying it will be here before you know.  Hope to see you all there, bring your pets too!  We love Halloween pics with pets and kids!  In the meantime, have a wonderful fall and hopefully I won’t take so long to write next time :-)   b

I thought I’d try to write a few things since its been so long.  I apologize that its been 3 months since my last entry but we have been quite busy.  Thats good news of course because given the economy, it could be quite different.  I would like to thank all of you for your patronage and putting faith in me and all the IDC employees.  We truly have a great community here and I am glad to be a part of it.

Spring is trying to spring I believe which is a wonderfu relief for us all.  I look forward to seeing our snow birds as they start flocking back and bringing that warmer weather with them.  I know I’m probably pushing it but one can be hopeful, right?  :-)

This is a short one I know… I have the phone ringing and I have phone calls to return.  Everybody take care and I’ll try to write sooner next time and don’t forget to stop by!

I guess I shouldn’t say “Talk to you soon!” when I don’t seem to get to write anything but once a month… sorry about that.  I’ll try to do better but for those of you who know me… you know not to count on that :) .  You’ll notice I decided to flip flop things on this page so the newest posts are at the top.  I just thought it might be easier for those of you who stop by this page to see right away if there is anything new … we’ll see how it works out.

Since I last wrote we have had Santa visit with us and have started having some nice sales in preparation for the holidays.  Santa stopped by the day of a Geneseo playoff game so, unfortunately, not many kids were able to visit with him :( . We were sorry for that but for those that did stop I believe they had a very nice visit and were able to spend some extra time with Santa that may not have been possible had it been a busier day.  We took some wonderful pictures and had a lot of fun.  Thank you to all that were able to come by and please come back and see us!

I mentioned sale items… we have put all of our in stock laptops on sale, some monitors, keyboards, mice, and we still have many jump drives left at blow out prices.  Whatever you are looking for, stop by here to check out our selection.  Along with the selection of sale items we have some new mice, and jump drives (different from our blow out items) to check out for stocking stuffers.  Gaming keyboards and mice are big with those teens (and older of course) and we have some of those.

We will be here early on Thanksgiving Friday; 7:00 am to catch some of you early risers.

Oh dear, I almost forgot…..Something new we are doing this year is giving a discount on our IDC custom build desktops to individuals and family’s (sorry not to buisnesses) as long as they are ordered by December 24th.  We are excited about this and have already sold 3 since starting the sale.

We are looking forward to a busy holiday season and look forward to seeing you all again soon and meeting those new to the store.  Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!

Here it is close to the end of October.  We had our Bootiful Saturday annual pictures on the 25th.  It went quite well with 214 kids coming in to have their pictures taken, up slightly from last year.  We did a lot of group pictures this year though so it didn’t seem quite as busy to us in the store.  Hope you all enjoyed your day and got a lot of good candy!

Halloween is just about over now and time for us to get in gear for the holidays.  We will be taking pictures of kids with Santa on November 15th so don’t forget to stop by and have a visit withSanta and pause for that special picture.  While you’re here you can meet our new IT / sales associate, Daniel Smith.  He is in his second week with IDC and doing a great job.  Michael will be leaving us after Friday and pursuing his other options.  We hate to see him go but wish him all the best in whatever career he decides to pursue.

Talk to you soon!

Well, here we are in September already!  My plans for a nice lazy summer sure didn’t pan out.  Seems we were busier than ever.  My daughter still was able to show at the county fair and state fair, although doing it one handed.  She did quite well actually and we had a lot of fun.  We did get to a few Bandits games through the summer which I always enjoy with my son.  The challenge of the year has been the Redbone Coonhound we got in February.  He is 9 months old now and bigger then our Golden.  ‘Course he has to go on his daily early morning run and has been pretty good but once in a while disappears through the corn field and doesn’t return for a half hour or so.  This wreaks havoc on my nerves.  We found a home for the donkey with other donkeys so he is no longer with us; and the rabbit, unfortunately died over the summer.  So we’re down to 2 horses, a mini, 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Getting to business… I hope you all will enjoy our new website.  The challenge will be to get everybody  going on their blogs.  I’m hoping that with this new design we can keep things updated but we’ll see.  We always seem to have a lot of other things that take priority over updating the website.  As you all have probably noticed by now, Michael does not have a “chatter” page.  This is because he will be leaving us as of September 26th.  He has decided to try some other ventures and continuing with IT work doesn’t fit with his goals right now.  I hope you will all support his decision as we all feel he will do a wonderful job in what ever field he chooses to persue.  We will miss him greatly but do not fear we are still here to cover all of your computer / IT needs and we will be hiring another full time technician.

Thats all for now, check back often and be sure to stop in and see us…. b

Good News!  Michael has agreed to stay on 1 day a week for the time being.  He will be coming in on Mondays to help me get orders done and go out on service calls.  There are always some special projects I have always counted on him to do so he will be able to continue with some of these too.  So, even though he is still going to leave us eventually, he will be around to help train his replacement and will be available to talk to those of you used to speaking with him. :)

This is where I will be posting my “chatter” for lack of a better word.  (probably blog or post would be better :) )  I may talk about the store, give tips or “help” information or may just talk about my dogs, cats, horses, donkey, rabbit or children!  We have quite a menagerie at home and there are always challenges. For instance, my son had a fracture in his wrist (received playing flag football!) so had a cast for 4 weeks.  Three days after the removal of the cast my daughter had an accident with her horse and dislocated her wrist; which required surgery, pinning and a cast for at least 6 weeks.  Could have happened to any of us but still no fun. …. it sure plays havoc on the summer plans. :-)   Looks like we switch gears and try to slow down a bit… thats a novel idea for summer, I think I may actually enjoy quiet evenings on a lawn chair, Saturdays or Sundays at the pool, a Friday night Bandits game…yeah, slow down and just enjoy being a family.
